Caterham Reveals Miami Special Edition Seven Inspired By Formula 1 Weekend
Caterham has officially introduced a new Miami Special Edition of its iconic Seven, created to celebrate the high-profile race weekend in Miami and the brand’s continued expansion in the United States market.
The lightweight track-focused special edition made its public debut during the Miami race weekend at the Miami International Autodrome, where motorsport fans had the opportunity to see the bespoke model displayed on Race Street within the event campus.
The Miami Special Edition stands out with a unique Aqua exterior finish combined with custom Vibrant Pink and White graphics inspired by Miami’s energetic atmosphere and motorsport culture. Additional exterior details include a special Miami script and a silhouette of the Miami circuit integrated into the rear design of the vehicle.
Inside, Caterham continues the bespoke theme with embroidered Miami branding on the headrests, an individually numbered dashboard plaque, and personalized builder plaques located in the engine bay. These engraved plaques include the names and signatures of the two technicians responsible for hand-assembling each vehicle in the UK, reinforcing Caterham’s handcrafted production philosophy.
Performance remains true to the Caterham Seven’s lightweight engineering approach. The Miami Special Edition is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine producing 210 horsepower at 7,600 rpm. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, the lightweight configuration delivers an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 375 bhp per tonne, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 136 mph.
Caterham says the Miami race weekend represents the ideal setting for the special edition due to the city’s growing reputation as a global center for motorsport, luxury automotive culture, and lifestyle experiences. The project also aligns with the company’s broader North American expansion strategy, including the recent addition of Walt Grace Vintage as a Miami-area dealer and a new partnership with Precision Drive Club.
Production of the Caterham Seven Miami Special Edition will be extremely limited, with only 12 examples planned. Ten of those vehicles will reportedly be made available for purchase through Caterham’s USA dealer network, making the model one of the rarest modern Caterham special editions produced in recent years.
