Alpine Sales Surge 54.7% As A290 And A390 Drive Brand Expansion
Alpine has reported significant worldwide growth during the first quarter of 2026, with global sales increasing by 54.7 percent compared to the previous year as the French performance brand continues expanding its electric and performance-focused lineup across Europe.
The company delivered 3,246 vehicles globally during Q1 2026, with Europe accounting for the vast majority of sales at 3,096 units. Much of the momentum has been driven by the growing popularity of the Alpine A290 electric hot hatch, which has quickly become the brand’s best-selling model.
The United Kingdom emerged as one of Alpine’s strongest growth markets, recording a dramatic increase of more than 1,500 percent and establishing itself as the brand’s second-largest market overall. France remains Alpine’s largest market, while Germany and Spain also posted substantial growth figures during the quarter.
A major contributor to Alpine’s performance is the recently launched A290, first revealed in 2024. Designed as a compact electric performance hatchback inspired by Alpine’s motorsport heritage, the A290 combines everyday usability with agile handling and sporty performance characteristics. Available in several trim levels, the model offers both 180-horsepower and 220-horsepower electric motor configurations paired with a 52 kWh battery pack and Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires.
Alpine also continues expanding its product lineup with the introduction of the A390 sport fastback. The five-seat performance EV incorporates a three-motor setup and Alpine Active Torque Vectoring technology, allowing the flagship version to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The model is now gradually expanding across European markets as Alpine broadens its electric vehicle portfolio.
Meanwhile, the iconic Alpine A110 remains a strong performer despite approaching the end of its production lifecycle. The lightweight sports coupe continues to dominate its segment in Europe with a reported 62 percent market share. Production of the current-generation A110 is scheduled to conclude this summer as Alpine prepares for the next generation of the model.
In addition to expanding its vehicle lineup, Alpine is also accelerating the growth of its retail network. The company added 44 new sales locations, bringing the total number of Alpine retail points to 210 across 25 countries. Alpine says it plans to reach 300 retail locations by the end of 2026, with new Atelier Alpine flagship locations planned for Milan and London.
