The McMurtry Spéirling continues to redefine the boundaries of electric performance, thanks in part to a partnership with Helix, the UK manufacturer known for producing some of the most power-dense electric motors in the world.

Helix has developed a bespoke propulsion system for the Spéirling, featuring two SPX242-94 electric motors mounted at the rear of the compact single-seater hypercar. Together they deliver up to 1,000 horsepower, enabling extraordinary performance figures including 0–60 mph in just 1.5 seconds.

Each motor weighs only 33 kilograms yet produces 500 Nm of torque, demonstrating the extreme power density that Helix has achieved through its advanced electric motor technology.

The propulsion system works alongside McMurtry’s innovative Downforce-on-Demand™ fan system, which generates enormous levels of aerodynamic grip even at low speeds. This combination allows the Spéirling to deliver record-breaking performance on both road and track.

The hypercar has already set impressive benchmarks, including record runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Laguna Seca Hill Climb, and the fastest lap ever recorded on the Top Gear test track.

Helix’s motors will power the McMurtry Spéirling PURE production model, with the first customer deliveries expected in 2026.

Beyond the hypercar itself, McMurtry has also launched McMurtry Technology, a new division offering access to the company’s advanced technologies such as fan downforce systems, high-performance batteries and electric axle solutions for other automotive manufacturers.
