Alpine Performance Platform (APP): Engineering the Future of EV Sports Cars
The French performance brand Alpine Cars is taking a decisive step toward the future of electric sports cars with the development of the Alpine Performance Platform (APP).
As part of the futuREady strategy led by Renault Group, Alpine is scaling its growth after surpassing 10,000 annual registrations for the first time, positioning itself as a global premium niche brand.
The APP is not just another EV platform — it is a fully integrated engineering system designed to solve three core challenges in high-performance vehicles:
- Lightweight architecture using advanced aluminium structures
- Optimal weight distribution (40/60 front-to-rear) with dual battery packs
- High-performance electrification with 800V battery systems
One of the most critical innovations is the rear dual e-motor 3-in-1 e-axle, integrating motors, inverter, and transmission into a compact, high-efficiency unit.
On the dynamic control side, Alpine Active Torque Vectoring (AATV) adjusts torque distribution between wheels every 10 milliseconds, delivering exceptional precision and handling.
The system is orchestrated by the Alpine Dynamic Model (ADM ECU), a centralized control unit managing battery systems, motors, braking, steering, and active aerodynamics.
The next-generation Alpine A110 will be fully electric and continue to be produced in Dieppe, France, preserving the brand’s industrial heritage and engineering DNA.
