Jacob & Co. Opera Mechanical Hand-wound Watch

For the first time, Jacob & Co. brings together two characteristically Swiss traditions: the mechanical musical box and the wristwatch movement. This 18-piece limited series has been brought to life by mounting two musical-box cylinders and combs on the specially developed, hand-wound JCFM02 calibre, which incorporates titanium components for ideal sound propagation.

When the pusher at 2 o'clock is pressed down, a 20-second melody is chimed on 120 notes. As well as being a delight for the ears, this is also a feast for the eyes as the cylinders and blades rotate 120° around the dial as they play. At the same time, the tri-axial tourbillon completes its revolutions. So that 12 is always in the proper position on the off-centre hours and minutes dial, it also rotates counter-clockwise, driven by a patented differential gear.

Movement
Mechanical hand-wound, exclusive Jacob & Co. JCFM02 calibre, 646 components, 52 jewels, 21,600 vib/h, 120° rotation in 20 seconds, tri-axial tourbillon (rotating in 40 seconds, 3 and 8 minutes respectively), two cylinders in contact with two combs, each with 15 blades, miniature dancing couple in the centre, 72-hour power reserve.

Black DLC titanium and shaped sapphire crystal, 47 mm. Black DLC and 18k pink gold back with two bows for winding and setting. Domed sapphire crystal, glareproofed on both sides. Water-resistant to 30 metres (3 bar/100 ft).
