Already distinguished at the 2011 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, the UR-110 is back centre-stage, still with its satellite hours on planetary gears connecting to a day/night indicator and oil change indicator. On the UR-110, hours face minutes along the right section of the dial, where a pointer descends a vertical scale, graduated from 0 to 60. Such a feat is made possible by the watch's architecture on three levels of complexity. A central axis runs the full height of the watch to ensure the stability and balance of the entire mechanism; planetary gears govern the parallel rotation of the three hour satellites as they orbit the dial; three counter-rotating hour modules, each comprising an hour satellite and a minute hand, are individually mounted on a planetary gear. The result is an ingenious piece of avant-garde horology that displays the time with elegance and discretion.
